The Future Headquarters of TasteTXK — The Assembly Line Receives $100,000 Grant

Texarkana, USA — The Assembly Line, Texarkana’s premier hub for entrepreneurs, creators, and small businesses, has received a $100,000 grant from the Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) Foundation. The funding will help launch The Media Foundry, a cutting-edge podcast and digital media studio housed inside The Assembly Line’s newly renovated Discovery Place building in Downtown Texarkana — which will also serve as the future headquarters of TasteTXK.

TasteTXK, founded by local entrepreneur Mark Allan, placed as a finalist in PitchIt Texarkana in May 2025. The platform connects local businesses, nonprofits, and residents through shared experiences, exclusive offers, and volunteer engagement—turning everyday shopping and community involvement into collective progress.

“The creation of The Media Foundry marks a major step forward for Texarkana’s creative and entrepreneurial economy,” said Lisa Thompson, SWEPCO External Affairs Manager. “By investing in local talent and resources, we’re not just fueling innovation—we’re strengthening the foundation of our community.”

Backed by regional partners including Texas A&M University–Texarkana, Texarkana College, University of Arkansas Hope–Texarkana, AR-TX REDI, and both cities of Texarkana, the initiative aims to accelerate growth and collaboration across the two-state region.

“This investment helps transform ideas into viable businesses,” said Rob Sitterley, President & CEO of AR-TX REDI. “Together, we’re building momentum that benefits entrepreneurs, small businesses, and the entire community.”

The Media Foundry will feature a fully equipped studio with professional-grade cameras, lighting, microphones, and editing software. The space will also provide mentorship opportunities and training resources to empower the next generation of creators and small business owners. The facility is expected to be fully operational within the next year.
